Frequently Asked Questions
1. On second thought, I don't think that I'm confident enough for this. It's perfectly normal to feel nervous. After all, you don't know what to expect and may not feel comfortable revealing any skin. Remember, boudoir photography is about you and your fantasy. You control the style and intimacy level of the photos. This is your opportunity to define your standard of beauty and strengthen your confidence. These photos are for you to share with a loved one or keep for yourself. Jason excels at working within your comfort zone, using lighting and strategic poses that complement your best features. Clients who walk in nervous surprise themselves with new confidence shortly in the shoot. 2. What should I wear?Being comfortable and feeling sexy should be your main goal. Every woman is different, so there is no clear-cut answer. We suggest thinking about what makes you feel sexy or what you think is sexy in pictures.
Don't forget accessories. Jewelry, gloves, stockings, ties, and other accessories are a nice touch. They also help keep things fresh, while giving you something to play with. Remember, it is better to have too much than too little. Bring extra costumes in the chance you change your mind or become inspired to try something else. 3. Where will the shoot take place?Photography by Jason Kimmel is located in Lodi, CA. This is a convenient driving distance from Sacramento, Stockton, Oakland, and the rest of the Bay Area. Jason Kimmel maintains a mobile studio, which allows for speedy equipment setups for on-location shoots. For some women, this means shooting in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable. Arrangements can be made for additional locations such as hotels and even yachts. 4. How much does this cost? Please visit our rates page to view our price list. Custom packages can also be created for your specific needs. 5. Can I bring my own props and costumes?Unfortunately, our studio does not maintain a wardrobe. Our clients come in all shapes and sizes, making it impossible to choose clothing that matches every subject's tastes. More importantly, this is your day. All of the clothing you wear should be custom tailored to your fantasy. Don't forget to keep your audience in mind when you brainstorm for props. Your significant other may appreciate reflections of their own personalities. This can mean anything from guitars, footballs, or tools – items that have special meaning for both of you. Being personal and creative is the key. 6. Can I bring my partner/a friend?Yes you can. However, many of our subjects find it uncomfortable or become much more self-conscious when somebody they know is watching. We want your finished photos to appear natural and confident, which may be hard to accomplish with a lover or friend in the room. Keep this in mind. 7. What type of boudoir themes can I choose from? The style used in each photo is entirely up to you. We understand that this can be an overwhelming decision, especially if this is your first time. Here are a few themes that we see often and with amazing results.
Boudoir photography is whatever you want it to be. However, you should try to keep the special taste of your audience in mind. A personalized gift is always appreciated, especially when it comes with a beautiful smile and glow. 8. Is there anything I can do to prepare?
9. Do you provide retouching service? For Jason, retouching begins in the studio. Expert lighting usage and fluid poses can minimize the need to retouch. Jason does provide retouching services to reduce the visibility of blemishes, tighten skin, and other reductions. However, Jason encourages clients to consider their natural beauty. After all, layers of retouching may make you unrecognizable to your special someone! 10. Will you use my pictures online?Your photos are your property and belong to you and whomever you choose to share them with. We respect your privacy and will not use your photos without your advance permission. |
